What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser so that it can recognise the browser on the next page or the next visit. Some cookies last only until you close the browser ("session cookies"); others last for a set time.
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the GAID, a website needs your consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary. Cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for, such as staying signed in, do not need consent.
Cookies NollywoodCV sets
Every cookie below is strictly necessary for the Platform to work or to protect it.

Our own visit counter, which gives the admin page-view totals, does not set a cookie of its own. It uses the session that already exists and stores numbers only.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No third-party analytics such as Google Analytics, and no social media tracking pixels.
- The native ads on our blog are shown by NollywoodCV itself and do not set cookies.
If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before setting it.
Outside services on our pages
Some pages load content from other companies. Their servers receive your IP address and browser details, and they may set their own cookies under their own policies:
- Google Fonts, cdnjs and jsDelivr deliver the fonts, icons and page tools the site uses.
- YouTube and Google Drive play showreels and self-tapes that members link on their profiles and applications, when you view or play them.
- Paystack shows the payment page when you pay. It sets its own cookies to process and protect the payment.
- Links to social networks and WhatsApp take you to those services, which apply their own cookies once you arrive.
Consent and your choices
Because NollywoodCV sets only strictly necessary cookies, we do not show a cookie banner. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to sign in.
To limit the outside services above, you can use your browser's privacy settings, or avoid playing embedded videos.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie, and change the "Last updated" date. How we use personal data in general is explained in the Privacy Policy.
