Subscription, Billing and Refund Policy

What is paid for

Creating an account, keeping a free profile, browsing, applying for jobs and auditions, and showing interest in Film Market listings are free. These are paid for:

• Premium membership (section 2);
• native ads on the blog and, for some designs, a one-time ad design fee;
• the identity check fee for Fund My Film filmmakers.

Fund My Film donations are gifts to filmmakers, not payments to NollywoodCV. They follow the Crowdfunding and Donations Policy (Fund My Film).

Premium plans and prices

These are the current prices, in Naira:

What Premium includes is described in section 7 of the Terms and Conditions and on the Subscription Plans page. The price shown when you press Pay is the price you pay.

How payments are made

• All payments are processed by Paystack, a licensed payment company. You pay on Paystack's secure page using any method it offers you there, such as card, bank transfer or USSD.
• NollywoodCV never sees or stores your full card number or your bank login details.
• A payment counts only when Paystack confirms it to our server. Until then the service does not start.
• Paystack and your bank may send you their own payment confirmation.

When Premium starts

Premium starts as soon as the payment is confirmed and runs for the full period of the plan. While Premium is active, a new plan cannot be bought on top of it; you can renew during the grace period or after it ends.

Automatic Payment (renewal)

• When you subscribe you can choose Automatic Payment. Paystack saves your debit card securely and charges the plan price at the start of each new period, so Premium does not stop.
• You can turn Automatic Payment off or on, change plan, update your card or remove it at any time on the Subscription Plans page. Turning it off stops future charges. The period already paid for continues to its end.
• If a renewal charge fails, Premium is not extended. It ends at the end of the paid period, followed by the grace period.
• Members on Automatic Payment receive a notification before a renewal instead of a "please renew" email.

Manual payment, expiry and the grace period

• With Manual payment, you pay for one period at a time and renew yourself.
• We email you in the 7 days before your Premium ends.
• After the end date there is a 3-day grace period. Premium features keep working and you can renew. We email you when the grace period starts and when Premium has ended.

What happens when Premium ends

• Your profile goes back to the free view: photograph, extra credits, awards, education, skills, physical details, social links and reels are hidden from the public. They are not deleted and show again when you renew.
• Jobs, auditions and Film Market listings you already posted are not deleted. You cannot post new ones, renew Film Market listings or use other Premium-only features until you renew.
• Profile visit statistics are hidden until you renew.

Free Premium time

Premium time can also come from NollywoodCV directly (for example, when the admin grants it) or, while the referral programme is running, from referral points. Free time is not a payment: it cannot be exchanged for money and is not refunded. Referral points follow the rules shown on the Referrals page, and the programme can be paused or ended by NollywoodCV. Automatic Payment pauses during free time and starts again afterwards.

Other paid services

• Native ads: ₦5,000 for 7 days, paid once. Nothing renews by itself. Some ad design templates have a one-time design fee, shown before you pay. See the Advertising Policy.
• Identity check (Fund My Film): ₦250 for 2 tries at checking your NIN, name and date of birth. A try is used only when our verification partner gives a real answer; if it cannot answer, or our server fails, the try is not used and you do not pay again. After the tries are used without a match, you can use the manual check at no extra cost.
• Fund My Film fee: filmmakers pay nothing upfront. NollywoodCV receives 5% of each donation, and Paystack's charges are taken from the filmmaker's share. See the Crowdfunding and Donations Policy (Fund My Film).

No refunds

This applies to every payment to NollywoodCV, including:

• Premium plans, including unused time, renewals made by Automatic Payment, and time left when an account is closed or suspended;
• native ads and ad design fees, including ads that are paused or suspended for breaking the advertising rules;
• the identity check fee, whatever the result of the check.

Because of this, please check the plan, ad dates or details before you pay, and turn off Automatic Payment before the renewal date if you do not want to renew.

Nothing in this policy takes away a right you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other Nigerian law, for example where a paid service is not provided at all because of a fault on our side.

Failed, pending and duplicate payments

• Money left your account but the service did not start: bank transfers can take a few minutes. Our system checks unfinished payments with Paystack automatically several times an hour. If the service has still not started after an hour, contact us with the payment reference.
• Failed payment: if a payment fails, you have not been charged by NollywoodCV. If your bank still debited you, the bank normally reverses it. Send us the details if it does not.
• Duplicate charge: if you were charged twice for the same thing because of a payment error, contact us with both references. After checking with Paystack, we will refund the duplicate payment.

Price changes and taxes

NollywoodCV may change prices or plans. A change never affects a period you have already paid for. Prices are in Naira, and the current price is always shown before you pay.
